Master Engineer

When audio mastering is done to the track, the difference is apparent. Mastering is performed for two purposes. It is either used for correcting the given track or for enhancing the voice quality. It is always a better choice to do mastering for enhancing the quality, rather than corrective measures. The music quality is enhanced through mastering by increasing the volume, altering width, dynamics, frequency etc. to make it sound better. mastering engineering is performed using a range of equipments like the compressors and equalizers. The musical tracks may confront some deficiencies while getting recorded. These are completed when the audio track is mastered. The process of mastering the soundtrack is essential if it is to be released for commercial purposes. When the track is played on a radio or any other medium, it sounds professional and clear. Mastering the soundtrack offers it the crispness or finesse that is essential for a commercially released music track. The trained ears of a mastering engineer can find out the deficiencies in a song that can make it unmarketable. The engineer edits and tweaks it to make it sound better, clearer and louder. The mastering engineer knows how to enhance the sound quality by equalizing the sound frequency, bring out the clarity by compressing the music etc. The whole process is aimed at making the track cohesive and sound professional. Mastering provides the polish to your commercial song. In today’s competitive industry, music mastering is important for grabbing the attention of the music lovers.

My own free online game

Hi all!

I am proud to announce I have just released my first online game! I have been working on this game for a VERY long time. In fact I started the specifications over 25 months ago and testing started over a year ago and now we are finally ready and have just opened the doors to people of the public..............phew!

Basically you take on the role of a ruler of a city in the middle ages, build up your infrastructure, setup trades, connect roads and build up your military for expansion. The game is TOTALLY free and was designed so that you do not need to spend much time per day on it, a few minutes is enough and is orientated more towards mature players rather than kids.

The game is very "community" orientated, meaning that it revolves around being part of a group or in this case a "clan". Several other forums have shown interest and are already setting up their own groups in the game, so it will get VERY interesting VERY fast,

If you guys plan to create your own clan, then I suggest to select the same country and locate there.

Here is the game link:

http://www.lordempires.com

Your input is appreciated!

Please be patient, we are still in beta, so there is several additions on the way still especially GRAPHICS and DESIGN (which is why there are no screen shots), if you have any ideas or suggestions you can post those in the game forums.

Note: sorry to the moderators for posting here without prior contributing to the community, if this in the wrong forum please move.

Thoughts

This is going to sound like a strange one and I can't remember a topic made like this before.

Does anyone ever get really anxious over stuff? Like stuff in their past, mistakes etc?
Also when you ruminate over a thought so long you begin to lose track of things you have done and start to believe you have done awful things but you aren't sure on the authenticity of the memory, like whether you did it or made the whole thing up?

I usually get this after a night out drinking and I don't know what the hell it is or if it's worth seeing a Doctor or therapist about. It's almost like my mind could convince me I'm a rapist or murderer if I let it and would even give me a "memory" of doing such an act that I can't tell if it is real or not.

If you don't understand then don't worry about it, I just don't know what's wrong with me if anything is at all.

Bully

Nobody has done a review for a while and this is a gaming site.

Anyway I'm pretty new to this gaming thing (my hobby used to be mountain biking but that's another story) but I recently played and completed this game.

Title: Bully
UK Title: Canis Canem Edit
Gaming Certificate: 15+
Genre: Action adventure
Developer: Rockstar
Console: PlayStation 2

Anyway this game is basically in the true style of Rockstar apart from the fact it is set in a school.
It is similar to the GTA series, the missions are very similar apart from the fact that it is school gangs, not real gangs, that you must overcome.
The gangs are

1. Nerds
2. Preps
3. Greasers
4. Jocks
5. Townies

Also the weapons are different, replace guns with

1. Slingshots
2. Fire Crackers
3. Marbles (Chuck them on floor)
4. Stink Bombs
5. Itching Powder

Vehicles are also available

1. Skateboard (you can also latch onto the backs of cars with this)
2. Moped
3. Bicycle
4. Lawn Mowing cart

Your missions are to overcome the gangs, you also have side missions- which are lessons.

These are

1. English- You create as many words as possible from a list of letters, must be 3 lettered words or above
2. Shop Class- You follow set instructions to repair bicycles
3. Gym- Awesome, you get to do boxing, dodgeball.
4. Chemistry- Press buttons when they get in box to do experiments
5. Photography- Take pictures with camera of certain things e.g Flags or Tramps.

If you don't go to sub-missions (lessons) then if you are in school the Prefects or Teahers will try catch you, you can hide in bins though which is quite cool. You have to try and stay out of their line of vision (indicated on map) if you want to bunk classes.
If you are in town Police Officers will try catch you, this is also if you commit a crime e.g Hijack a Moped.

Anyhow the missions are fun and unique, if not a bit childish.
And roaming around does not grow tiresome either, there are plenty of cool things you can do like get in fights, climb trees and graffitti or ask out a girl by bringing her flowers or chocolate. You can also go to a carnival and play carnival games.
You also unlock save points and costumes for doing certain tasks, you can buy clothes as well, and you can purchase a haircut if you do not like the standard skinhead.
You can pretty much interact with everything, even roll and throw snowballs.
Fighting plays a big part in this game but the combat system is nice and comfortable (usually square combos.) The buttons as a whole are comfortable, like GTA tapping X will make you sprint. It also feels satisfying when you throw a fire cracker at someone.

The game can not really be compared to GTA in the way of which is better, it is probably GTA for youngsters, although saying that there are many adult themes in this game. Both games are pretty equal in gameplay, just depends which theme you prefer.
The cutscenes are awesome, your character gives out a lot of lip, and the characters are very good- as I said before though it can get a bit childish.

The music of the game is cool, it really suits the theme of a mischevious schoolboy.

Overall this is a great game that ends just at the right time (anymore missions you would get bored, any less the game would be too short.)
The game ends on a good note and the originality of the game will make it a remembered one, like Fable.
The voice overs and cutscenes are great as is the music, there is plenty to do and some nice surprising features that you constantly uncover (you are still learning new skills when the game ends.)

It's not the kind of game you will sell as running about at the end (neverending summer) is great, putting kids in lockers and giving wedgies or chinese burns.
I don't know if you could come back to the missions though, also the missions are a bit too easy, I must have only failed about 5 times in the game.

Though overall it is just a fun game, nothing groundbreaking like Zelda, but it will keep you amused.

8.1/10.

Halo 3 Beta Impressions

First up, this will be a progressive topic, I'll add in things as I write more on the topic. But this is going to be quite detailed. Also, these are impressions, not a review.

Halo 3 Beta

Halo 3 Beta - part 1 (grenades and gameplay)
My first impressions were that this was an incredibly polished game already, then I realised that they probably finished work on the gameplay long ago, it's the maps and more subtle gameplay elements that they are working on, or tweaking as it was. Much of these observations come down to opinion rather than fact since the gameplay has already been pretty polished.

The game plays much like Halo 2, the biggest differences being in the new weapons. However it would have been easy enough to incorporate most of these changes into Halo 2. Overall don't be expecting a revolutionary game. I'll be splitting this into multiple blog posts detailing all the maps (Snowbound, Valhalla, and Highgrounds), vehicles, one detailing the human weapons, and another covering Covenant weapons (Plasma and Brute) This post will cover gameplay changes, grenades and smaller additions that don't fit into any others.

First off, this is of course a beta so for those of you who haven't played it yet, don't take this as matter-of-fact will be in the completed game.

Gameplay is very similar to Halo 2, the basics are still entirely intact, I'm sure you are all aware of these basics so I won't cover them. The Gameplay seems a bit more heavily reliant on grenades, Bungie has given the Assault Rifle a clip just big enough that it's highly unlikely to kill someone without having to reload or inflict some extra damage. Usually that comes in the form of a grenade. I find myself heaving my 2 grenades almost right away if I encounter an enemy while still only holding my Assault Rifle. With the addition of the Spike Grenade, Grenades now have a limit of 2 for each type thus making your maximum 6. Although this hasn't been a problem in the least. I actually like the lowering of your max grenades because it makes you use all the types more equally and puts a bit more emphasis on guns.

The new Spike Grenade is essentially a shrapnel grenade, it sticks into whatever it hits first, whether that be ground, wall or Spartan. Yes, you do get a stick medal for sticking someone with a spike nade' and it's an auto-kill just like the plasma. I have found the Spike nade' less than useful when not attached to the faceass of your opponent however. I suppose once I get more used to them and know how the shrapnel disperses I'll be able to better use them to kill my opponents hiding around a corner with a shotgun, or at least weaken them up. So far though they seem to be utter random how the shrapnel disperses. 90% of it goes in a small quadrant though, just that quadrant seems to have no pattern to how it's chosen.

Plasma grenades seem to have been weakened a bit. They are still auto-kill when you stick someone but I've yet to see a non-stick kill from a plasma and I've played well over 150 matches (both social and ranked although more social) on the two 360's that me and my friends are using to play the beta.

Fragmentation Grenades (frags) are by far the most useful nade' in the beta. They are no significant differences over the Halo 1 and 2 frags, it's still impossible to kill someone at full shields with one but they are fantastic at weakening up someone enough that you are almost guaranteed a kill in 1 on 1 if you manage to let off an accurate grenade before the battle.

One extra thing which I really like is that Spartans no longer throw grenades like pansys. Their range is comparable to Halo: Combat Evolved as opposed to the 40 foot range than Halo 2 Spartans seem to possess. Speaking of strength, Melee is pretty similar although I believe it's slightly more powerful. Nothing revolutionary though.

Finally, the aftergame reports; much more detailed, each Spartan has the same lists detailing shots fired, hit, kills, death, who you killedkilled you but with a quite a few new additions. These include your killdeath ratio, your teams MVP, the top medals of the match, detailed reports on each medal including how you got it, how many of each you got, coloured pictures of the medals, who you killed the most and killed you the most and your weapon of choice (tends to be either beat down or grenades 80% of the time).

Well, that's it for this post, stay tuned in wheneverthehellIfeellikeit for another exciting look into the Halo 3 beta. Cheers.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There were a few gameplay elements I forgot (namely equipment and the X \ right bumper's new uses) so I'll add in a gameplay part I b. soon
Alright, part II - Human Weapons
New weapons:
Spartan Laser (Splaser)
The Splaser is without a doubt my favourite new entry into the series. It is tons of fun to use and to try and avoid. Your heart jumps when you see that ominous red laser pointer flashing toward you, pinpointing where the deadly beam of condensed photons will be in a fraction of a second. This is the best feature because it balances the weapon near perfectly. It's an auto-kill if it hits someone, usually even if they are in a vehicle, it has plenty of ammo, enough for 5 shots, no leading necessary since it travels at the speed of light, and it is pinpoint accurate. They balance this by having it require a warm-up time, when you pull the trigger, you have about 1 second before the weapon discharges, and in that one second there will be a small flashing laser pointer aiming wherever the Splaser is pointing, thus letting your target have a fraction of a second to try and evade. You can try to keep them oblivious by aiming elsewhere until just before it discharges, but that makes it impossible to aim well and if you miss, any skilled opponent will have taken cover long before you can get a second shot off. It's also more obvious than any other weapon exactly where the shot came from thus giving your position away to anyone who's looking anywhere in your general direction. Another personal favourite aspect of mine is that you get a medal for each individual kill with the thing. It's so rewarding hitting a full jeep with a flag carrier and seeing 5 medals (3 Splaser, 1 triple kill, and 1 flag carrier kill) appear from a single shot.
Assault Rifle:
The Assault Rifle is a very well balanced weapon in so far. It's capable to kill someone with a single clip who's at full health, but it's challenging to do so. Lobbing a grenade beforehand is a good starter when using the Assault Rifle. It's power is mainly for medium-short range distances. Good at medium, good at close, but not great at either. It's utterly useless at long range though. It's had it's clip reduced to 32 bullets, but it's power and accuracy have been increased over the Halo CE assault rifle. As the default starting weapon on every map, there is always plenty of ammo to go around as well.
SMG:
The SMG has had very little changes. It now has nearly no aiming deviation from auto-fire, so your aim doesn't creep up from the kickback. This is good and bad, easier to aim, but less skill involved. I was confident in my ability to keep it level in Halo 2, so it's bad for me. On the other hand, it makes it a bit easier for newbies to learn the ropes and actually be a challenge. It also sports a meaner sound when firing, making it sound threatening instead of those pathetic "puffpuffpuff" sounds it would make in Halo 2.
Battle Rifle:
The Battle Rifle (BR) has been decreased in it's effectiveness, which I like. I always found the Halo 2 BR to be a bit too good in the hands of skilled players. If your all newbs then it's fine, but once you get good at headshots and mastering combo's (Noob combo anyone?), then the BR really becomes more destructive than almost any other weapon. Now it's damage has been decreased slightly and it seems quite on par with all the other weapons. Also due to changes in the Plasma Pistol, the noob combo is much harder to pull off.
Sniper Rifle:
No noticeable changes and I've used it quite a bit. The only thing noteworthy is getting 5 kills with the sniper without dying warrants a "sniper spree" rather than a killing spree, this seems to be the only weapon with an exclusive spree. The mini-image in the sniper scope is now a green wireframe mode of whatever you are looking at as opposed to just another camera though.
Shotgun:
Rather big changes here, it's clip size has been reduced to 6 shells, and it's damage radius seems a bit smaller. Thus making the kill zone thinner and a bit further away. It's still a secondary weapon, you don't want to keeping this guy out unless your in close quarters. Rather keep it handy as a backup.
Missile Pod:
This is one of the chunky weapons that Zooms you into third person Ala Gears of War style while your carrying it. The Missile Pod (MP) has taken over the Rocket Launcher's anti-vehicleair role as the MP now exclusively carries the lock-on function. To be honest I find the Missile Pod underpowered. It only has 8 shots, enough to take out 1 or 2 vehicles on average, which isn't bad, but your incredibly vulnerable while using it. You move much slower, jump lower, and the MP is near completely useless against on foot Spartans. Yes, one hit will kill someone, but the dispersion ratio of the MP when firing not locked on to someone makes it utter luck if you kill someone even 10 feet away from you. Rockets will fire away at angles that don't seems too plausible while firing at infantry. You do need a direct hit to kill, hitting the ground by their feet barely seems to scratch the shields. It's one saving grace is that it's lock on feature is superior to the SPNKeR rocket launcher. I've shot rockets from the thing that missed the banshee and they just came right around for another run, and then another, until they found their target. It actually takes some skill and luck to avoid missile pod shots once they are locked on to you. Banshee's have a bit easier time avoiding them than ground vehicles though.
Turret:
Another chunktastic weapon that zooms you into third person. The Turret is exactly what you would think. It's a stationary turret that is detached from it's base and can be carried around. While on their stand they have unlimited ammo but are, of course, stationary. You can press "b" to detach them (which is odd since the Right Bumper is normally the action button), and once they are detached they have limited ammo (a couple hundred I believe) but they don't overheat or have to reload. They are actually a decently powerful weapon. One thing of note is that they cannot be reattached after that, and once the detached one runs out of ammo and disappears, another will respawn in a minute or two. It's not very hard to aim in third person contrary to what Bungie wants you to think.
Rocket Launcher:
The Rocket Launcher (RL) has been seriously nerfed (had it's power reduced). The lock-on function has been removed and it's damage radius seems to have been slightly reduced as well. However it's damage seems to have been increased a bit. This makes it a decent close range weapon sadly enough. I don't think I'm the only one that sees a problem with that. I long for the Halo: CE RL days. When it was possible to rocket-snipe a tank from halfway across Blood Gulch. Now the Rocket Launcher has been reduced to a semi-close range anti-personnel weapon. I wasn't too fond of Halo 2's rocket launcher either. The lock-on feature was kinda silly.
Lacking pistol:
There will be a pistol in Halo 3, it's just not in the Beta. Bungie claims it will be similar to the Halo: CE pistol just lacking a scope. If it truly is, I don't think I will be playing online too much. I despised that pistol because it was a fantastic anti-infantry weapon, a good anti-air weapon, an acceptable anti-vehicle weapon, and it wasn't a half-bad sniper. Coupled with 1 hit kills for a headshot on an unshielded opponent and you have yourself the stupidest and cheapest weapon ever invented. Why don't the UNSC just equip everyone in the army with a pistol? They are infinitely better than the Assault Rifle anyways. Enough of my bitching The point is that it's going to be a powerful, non-duel wieldable weapon.
F.E.A.R Review
(Yeah, I know it's kind of late to be reviewing this and their might already be a review for this, but whatever).
F.E.A.R
F.E.
A.R is a very atmostpheric survival-horror esque First Person Shooter. In this review I will be breaking it up in catagories: Gameplay, Graphics, and Sound.
Gameplay:
The Good:
Spectacular, honestly the best I've experienced in a while. The combat is just like something out of "The Matrix", watching enemies fly into the air in slow motion from an explosion and blowing them into two with the shotgun. The enemy AI is the best I've ever seen. Period. While most games' AI is coded F.E.A.R's is not. In other words it's made to feel like you're killing a living, breathing human like in an online game. Enemies will take cover by flipping things over, run away shooting, try to flank you and expose you if you are hiding and since the AI is uncoded you can replay the same fight on the same difficulty over and it won't be the same as last time you played it, which increases the replayability tenfold. The scare tactics this game uses are also superb, instead of using pop-out-and-scare-you tactics, F.E.A.R get's in your head, it makes you uncomfortable and disturbs you, I cannot describe this too much without spoiling it, though. F.E.A.R also has a bullet time called "SlowMo" which slows down time and gives you a speed advantage over your enemy giving you time to aim a kill them before they even fire.
The Bad:
While there are many good things about the gameplay, it still has flaws but these come very few. For one, the enviroments get repitive, there are only 3 types of enviroments, office spaces, warehouses, and underground off-limit facilities. The games is also short, there are only 11 levels, but it's just enough to keep you hooked long enough to beat it and not get too bored. Also the story-telling mechanic is weak, you find your self listening to phone messages of people that were involved in the incidents to get details on the back-story and finding laptops with data on them to learn about the main story.
Graphics:
The Good:
The graphics are some of the best I've seen. The lighting effects are spectacular and I've never seen such clever usage of shadows in a game. The explosion effects are done nicely also, you can see them distort the air and make everything fly in the air along with the flames. The slow motion effects are the best, you can bullets distort the air like in "The Matrix", sparks flying everywhere and watch enemies slowly burst into two pieces before your eyes. The textures are so crisp and detailed too.
The Bad:
While the graphics may be great they are power hungry, in other words, you will need a relatively good system to get them, I use a computer with 2.2 GHz, 1GB of RAM, and a Sapphire ATI Radeon X1650Pro and I can play it at Medium Computer Settings and High Graphic Settings. That being said, you may wanna check your computer specs and the game requirements before you buy it.
Sound:
Great. Really adds to the scary atmosphere the creepy music and haunting whispers really makes the enviroment immersive. The guns sounds, for the most part, are also great along the explosion sounds, though there are some guns that sound like firecrackers at most.
Overall: One of the most important games of our generation. This is about important as air is to our lungs. The atmosphere and eviroments are immersive and really add the freight this game gives off. The combat is just like an action movie and the graphics are great and cleverly done. Though it is very short, it's long enough to keep you immersed untill the end of the game. That being said, this is a must.
Scores:
Gameplay:10/10
Graphics:9/10
Sound:10/10
Overall:9.6
