A 30 year old man taking a 6 year old girl from her bath and violating her body is wrong, no matter how much society does or doesn't accept sex. end of story.
So what's your idea for society accepting sex then, no age of consent, anyone can do any sexual activity with anyone else? That'd have no effect on paedophiles, they'd still get their kicks from violating childrens bodies and ruining their whole lives, it'd just be legal in your world.
What a load of bollocks.
No. You don't understand.
Think of the mind as a pressure cooker, with all our disparate views, ideas, and mores combined in a single pot. Without a release valve for sex - either through open-mindedness about pornography or the act itself, it is pressed down to where it mixes with our other taboos. Like the blending of flavors in the steam. And eventually that pot is going to burst, as more and more pours into it.
Rape and paedophilia are wrong, you'll get no arguement from me about that. But they are a byproduct of sexual repression. Is it natural for someone to want to have sex with pre-pubesents? No, it's not. It makes no sense from an evolutionary standpoint, as the kids in question cannot reproduce. So it is not a natural problem (maybe in limited instances it is, but when you consider the abnormal percentage of the population involved, it can't just be a random genetic mutation. Therefore, we'll assume it's not a natural desire.) It is a result of distorted sexual views.
Perhaps things are different on your side of the sea. But here in America, we are indoctrined from birth with the idea that sex is 'wrong' and 'bad' and 'dirty.' No one really teaches us anything about sex until a few years AFTER puberty, and even then it's clinical and biased towards repression. (The whole 'abstinance is the only way' !@#$%^&*.) Can't you see where there might be some distortion in our views?
I return to the R-brain - the central core of our emotional response and impulses. This, unfortunately, is what controls us. It has the shortest access to our spinal column and executive discretion above our more logical centers. Now, as I said earlier, it is divided between sex and aggression - the two bases of all emotion. What do you think happens when sex is reppressed? Aggression comes forward to compensate. Moreover, it's sexual aggression!
Why? Well, take a quick glance at our animal cousins and you'll quickly realise the issue. When you don't get sex, you're damn well going to fight to get it anyway. Enter rape.
Ah, and don't think I've forgotten about paedophillia. Lolita (which is essentially the same thing but easier to write) can be divided into two types, one of which is morally and evolutionarally wrong, and one which is simply legally wrong:
Prepubescent lolita is simply rape against a victim who cannot defend themselves. (The same applies to other, less publicised sex crimes - i.e. necrophillia.)
Postpubescent lolita, on the other hand, I have difficulty finding any real, logical reason to object to. (Obviously, rape is still wrong in any context.) Can a 30 year old man hook up with a 15 year old girl? Or, can a 30 year old woman sleep with a 15 year old boy? Honestly, if it's consentual, I don't give a damn.
And you know what? I'd guarenttee that if you looked at the statistics, the former would be a lot rarer than the latter.
So, I think you can see that there is a logical connection between our image of sex and the reality. We create sex crimes through our oppression of sex. That is all.
I have to second Lee here - make the AOC about 14 or 15. Once you start wanting sex, you're capable of dealing with it.
