I like so think it is, for one thing it easily had the best characters outta all the others.
Also the new battle system like so-so kicks a** over the other dated combat system. Its about time they changed it 2 something better!
graphics were really like well polished 2. Much better than like I expected them to be.
Lastly I just thought the "Espers" were so much radder than the Aeons, also I hardly like never used em in the game, jsut to test their cool special moves! lol!

What do y'all think bout this revolutionary FF game for a new generation of FF Fans?

I was dissapointed with it, but I seem to be the minority. I found the characters acceptable, but not awesome like most of FFVII or VIII's cast. The gameplay was fun for awhile, but eventually the gambits got kind of tiring. Then the fact that the party members that you don't use don't level up really pissed me off. I hate it when games do that, it eliminates half your party from ever being used.

I never got far enough into it to appreciate the story, just got Ashe I believe her name was. The last party member anyways. The story up to that point was nearly non-existent, though I've heard it is alright.

I'm looking forward to XIII, but I don't have any plans on completing XII at the moment.

I will have to agree on the character cast it wasn't the best of the final fantasy games. I namely just hated Vaan. As for game play, i hated the new combat system at first but it eventually grew on me and i really enjoy it. Espers were really cool i think but their use died out later into the game. Same goes with quickenings they were awesome at first but once i finally got a hang of the gambits there was much better use for my mp. The graphics were real nice a bit better than i was expecting which is always nice. Other things i enjoyed was the hunts board and i'm gonna go back and try to 100% the game. Getting to fight Gilgamesh was great and brings back FFV nostalgia. Lastly, i really enjoyed the games storyline and the ending was most satisfying.

As for it being the best FF ever... I wouldn't say that but it is up there with VII, Tactics, and Chrono Trigger.

I'm also looking forward to FFXIII especially since i wont have to get a playstation 3 to play it.

I haven't seen the ending yet but I put a lot time into the game and it's just dreadfully boring to me.

Manually attacking is tedious even with your supporting party set with gambits, and just having gambits on is boring, you don't do anything. People think the gameplay is innovated and spectacular, to me it's still has the same old RPG conventions only set in real-time with a strange combination of wait-time instead of active-time or just wait-time, and the people over at Square-Enix have already made a similar system with Kingdom Hearts only more interesting and fun because of the action elements put into it.

And the characters are cool but I have yet to see any development in any of them, the only character that doesn't seem bored is Ashe, and I thought Cid was cool. And is it just me or has there been a decrease in the recording quality of the voice acting since the last games? I won't say much more about the characters or anything about the story yet until I finish the game except that given all the time I've put into it yet so far that neither has yet to resonate to me.

Edit: I almost failed to mention the music, the music is cool, but where's the dynamics. It seems to be quiet most of the time barely in the background. Other than the opening scene and title scene I'm wondering if this is the same composer or not, the music is drastically different.

(BTW: I thought I was the only one that wasn't feeling this game until I read Lee's post.)

Honestly despite how much i like the game, i can understand why you might not like it as much. I myself took a 5 month break 1/3 of the way through before i forced myself to finish it.

I have played almost every Final Fantasy game and enjoyed them all, even the ones people seemed to hate like FFVIII, FFX and Mystic Quest. I'm thinking this is due the Final Fantasy creator leaving to form his own independent company before the release of this game.

And it may seem like I'm nitpicking now but although the graphics are great I don't think it looks as good as ten, the reason being is that they took away the fixed camera angles. FFX had the camera set up perfectly to make things seem better or bigger than what they were, the designers were able to craft beautifully rendered areas and designed them specifically for an angle. While FFXII has a camera you're able to control and rotate and things end up looking 'off' and backgrounds small because of this. I've always loved the fixed angles in the 3D Final Fantasy's, and it's something I immediately noticed about 12.

And I was right, I looked into it and it's not the same composer, the theme is the original composer however.

Y'all like seem the minority that hate or don't like this game.
That's cool I'm always open for different opinions from everybody!
I liked totally thought FF-12 had the best characters easily, the Gambit System took a lil' gettin' used to, but once
I did, it like so rocked with everything else that you did.
