I believe Kotaku originally broke the story but apparently by Mid 2009 a new DS will be announced. but i actually read earlier as well that it will be announced as early as this thurs/friday. Im not sure how true that one is though. have a look at the Mock up Gizmodo did. I gotta say their one looks pretty damn spiffy to me. And if it included all the enhanced features on their wishlist it would be totally awesome!

I hope they don't make it touch only. Even though a bigger screen would make the touch interface easier, it would still suck because you would practically only be able to play with one hand. And some games would be better off with a normal button interface anyways.

Awwwwww yeah. the new DS has been announced today. the DSi. Check out the spects and details int hw links below.

Both screens are touch screens, proper wifi built in, an SD card slot, DS Shop, 100 free nintendo points and a DS Ware game when you buy it, a 3mp camera on the outside and a VGA one on the inside, presumable for video chat and that kind of thing. Sounds pretty damn awesome if you ask me,

Three cheers for backwards region locking. People import because your release schedule outside North America is poor Nintendo, not to mention the inflated pricing.
