Q. I need some new music to listen to, preferably death metal, any ideas?
You should come to me with music related questions, I love music and I'm big fan of extreme metal. Though I'm not too big on death metal in particular there's still a good number of bands I like.
There's 'Maudlin of the Well'. Although they aren't really a 'death metal' band they do have a few death metal songs and implement death metal (and black metal) into many other of their songs. Their songs are an unique combination of various genres often mixing spacey sounds with harsh ones.

There's also 'Cynic'. Most of their singing is actually soft and done through a vocoder giving them a very cosmic sound, but you still get a growl here & there and the music is quite heavy. This band has some fantastic musicians, they play very tight & fast and they're sort of like the band 'Atheist' in that they write very complicated death metal with some jazz elements thrown in. A perfect band in my opinion.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, I just really like moosack.
edit: I think I better post a song from 'Cynic's' old album 'Focus' seeing how it's much closer to the genre. Classic death metal.

Crickey, gotta be faster around here or the jerks will turn this into a "ask NW" thread =P
Now, if we are talking very specifically about Death Metal as a subgenre then I'll admit I don't know too many bands there. However a lot of people just label all harder metal music including Thrash, Metalcore, Power Metal, Black Metal, etc as 'Death Metal' even though they are their own distinct genres.
Since it's a good rule of thumb that if you like some of the genres you will like others I will introduce some great bands of all kinds of metal.
All That Remains is one of the few Death Metal bands that I love; though they also have some basis in Alternative Metal and Melodic as well.

However, I'm also going to use this opportunity to push what is arguably my favourite band; A7x.
Their older albums (Waking the Fallen and earlier) are all amazing Metalcore

Their newer stuff is still awesome, though it's more mainstream metal; Though still freaking amazing.

Well this is a very broad question and will thus require many subjects to be looked at. The location is incredibly important, the politics are important, the local people are important, the social policies are important, the laws are important and so forth.
Location: This is a subject that's incredibly relative, as Vancouver is nicer than some backwater racist Alabama town with a population of 10,000; and San Fransisco is nicer than some small town in the frozen tundra of Nunavut with a population of 60.
Also, since both countries are so incredibly vast in size, you can find just about any environment you like in both. (You can fit the British Isles, France and Germany into British Columbia and still have room to spare). Head to Alaska for nothing but glaciers and snow in the United States; Or head to Osoyoos if you want to live in a desert in Canada. It also comes down to personal likes. If you love heat, then California might be your cup of tea. If you like temperate climates where the temperature hovers slighty above freezing in the winter, and average is around 20-25 degrees (70f+) in the summer then you would love Vancouver. Central Canada temperatures can be far more radical, with Calgary easily going from −30°C (−22°F) in the winter, to positive 30°C (86°F) in the summer!
Politics are also important; If you're a hardliner conservative with anti-homosexual stances or even a bigot then you would not like Canada's left-wing nature. White is a minority-majority in greater Vancouver (less than 50% of our residents are white; though we are still the majority race). If you think that the Democrats are still a bit too central then Canada and you would get along fine. (Our Conservative party is still arguably more left-wing than the Democrats). Heathcare and social programs in Canada are superb, and taxes are actually much lower than people expect because of them.
Laws are important as well. Guns are much more controlled. We don't have any clause in our Charter of Rights and Freedoms that says anything about 'Right to Bear Arms'. Handguns are tightly controlled to the point of being illegal for anything except organized sports or for security-guards. Rifles are legal for hunting but still are much more controlled than in America. Drugs laws are much more lax, marijuana is commonplace and if caught it's just confiscated as long as it's under a certain limit (technically they can fine you as well, but that's rare).
So like all things in this world, it comes down to your personality and opinions. If you're a hardliner republican you will probably like to stick around in America; however for almost everyone else I would highly recommend Canada if you're considering moving.

Sorry to hear about that; that's some very poor luck.
Yes, it's completely possible to replace all of her limbs with prosthetic. There are even some major advances in the field which have driven artificial limbs from the typical 'claw hands' you see frequently to more realistic looking and moving replacements.
In fact, some robotic arm replacements have some very advanced features, including direct bone attachment which allows for less pain and greater control over the limb. muscle tissues are directly attached and can control the hands, allowing amputees enough control to even drive themselves. Losing a limb is no longer as much of a problem that it was even just 5 years ago.

Please note that I have been with her for 2 yearsish now.
I need to know your income levels to make a proper evaluation; also if you're going to Paris you'll want a week minimum. and I'll also need to know the average costs of travel to Paris from where you live. (it's a much bigger deal for someone in North America to go to Paris than it would be for someone in Germany)
