QUOTE(swaskiba @ Jul 12 2003, 03:13 AM)
well i did (even tho it was a !@#$%^&* apology, lol) put etile keeps tryin to protect u and when u posted that it was just to start a fight and he dont see that....

as far as im concerned our fight is over and im glad (if it really is, that is)

im not tryin to make cheap pops on ya but just sayin at the time u were tryin to fight and he keeps tryin to protect ya

its called being a mediator

and the only thing im blinded by is that spork a rebel penguin threw at me.

on a side note, since she knows me, ask her how many times i've ever "protected" anyone that i know. lol

QUOTE(etile @ Jul 11 2003, 11:49 PM)
one action has as many truths to it as its interpreters, and even one many endow it with multiple meanings...

speaking of other people, where's aaron?

Sorry, everyone. I took off with the family to "Hideout" for a weekend of camping and music. It's like Woodstock, but for Christians. Very cool.

I was hoping that all the crap I saw developing just before I left wouldn't boil over while I was gone, but I guess not.

"In honor" of these recent posts, I am going to post a quote that should be near and dear to any person's heart (Chrsitian or not).

27 "But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
28 "bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.
29 "To him who strikes you on one cheek, offer the other also (ie: turn the other cheek). And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either."
...
35 "But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great..."
Luke 6:27-29, 35

--------------------

On a sidenote, I am stoked to see some "Odessey" quotes posted here. That always was one of my favorite stories of all time. I, too, have a copy of the book (along with "The Illiad") sitting a few inches away from my PC.
I'd post some quotes from it as well, but I think I should just let this quote stand alone for awhile as I continue to promote a little peace in the forum. (Plus, it's been a long time since I last read it and can't remember where the good quotes are wink_smile.gif )

Is the Odessy really good? or is it a good but dreadful book to read?

You know what book/s have really insightful quotes? Any novels by Amy Tan, but i don't think a lot of guys would read them. They are really good books.

Finally someone says the like the odyssey!! I have been criticized b/c of the coolness of my quotes recently. people just dont understand.

here is a quote "in honor" of recent posts too... um... yeah.

"They took Melanthios along the porch and the courtyard. They cut off, with the pitiless bronze, his nose and his ears, tore off his private parts and gave them to the dgos to feed on raw, and lopped off his hands and feet, in fury of anger."
(just kidding about the "in honor of" part)

here's a non-violent one:
"You are so strange. The gods, who have their homes on Olympus, have made your heart more stubborn than for the rest of womankind."

overall, the book was awesome, just a bit long, and a little tougher than your average books.
